ఇవ్వాళ్ళ జ్యేష్ఠ శుక్ల దశమి , మంగళవారం , హస్తా నక్షత్రం . ఈ రోజు గంగా దసరా గా జరుపుకుంటారు . ఈ రోజు బ్రహ్మ కమండలం నుండీ భగీరధుడి తపస్సు ఫలితంగా గంగా దేవి భూమి పైకి వొచ్చిన రోజు . మహేశ్వరుడు తన జటాజూటం తో గంగా దేవి ని పట్టుకుని తన శిరస్సు మీద ఉంచుకున్న రోజు . 

శివ ప్రోక్త దశహర గంగా స్తోత్రం పారాయణ చేసుకోవాలి. స్నానం చేసే నీళ్లలో కొంత గంగా జలం కలుపుకోవాలి . ఇలా చెయ్యడం వల్ల పాప హరణం జరుగుతుంది . 

చంద్ర మహర్దశ వల్ల కష్టాలు పడుతున్న వారు చంద్ర గ్రహ దోషాలు ఉపశమించడానికి  పరిహారాలు చేసుకోవడం మొదలుపెట్టడానికి మంచి రోజు . 

ఈ రోజు గణేశాష్టకం పారాయణ చేసుకోవడం మంచిది . 

Today is Jyeshta Sukla Dasami, Mangalvaar, Hasta Nakshatra all day and night. Today is celebrated as Ganga Dussehra, the day when Ganga is born. Today is the day when Akasa Ganga descended from the Brahma Kamandala to the Earth and held by Lord Siva with his Jata Joota.

Siva Prokta Dasahara Ganga Stotram has to be chanted today. Mixing some Ganga Jala in the water with which you take bath is good today. This absolve many sins committed knowingly or unknowingly.

Today is a good day to start doing remedies for Chandra Graha if he is negatively placed in the horoscope and dasa of Chandra is running currently.
