A sloka from Sarvartha Chintamani written by Sri Venkatesa Daivagna describes Dana Yoga as follows:
दानाधिपेन संदृष्टे लग्ने तन्नायकेपिवा !
तस्मिन् केन्द्र त्रिकोणस्थे महादानकारो भवेत् !!
Meaning : If the Ninth lord aspects the lagna or the lagna lord and is
in a Kendra or a trikona the native will be a great Donor
